You My Friend Are A Leader!
Updated: Jan 25, 2023
If someone were to tell you that you are a leader, how would you respond to that comment?
Do you view yourself as a leader?
Whether you view yourself as a leader or not, I believe God expects each one of us to be a leader. We can lead by example within our own families by the way we talk and treat one another and by being truthful and honest. Some people are leaders in sports, their careers, or even in their churches.
No matter what kind of leader you are, make sure you are following Jesus' example in the way he led his life - with humility and kindness. Holy week and Easter are coming upon us soon and I am thinking of all the people who mocked Jesus and sentenced him to death and yet He didn't fight back. He continued to love them even on the cross Luke 23:34 "Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." This is such a powerful statement of love.
Are we forgiving and loving others in this way? It's not always easy, but it's what God calls us to do. I challenge you to forgive those who need to be forgiven and look for ways to improve your leadership skills, perhaps you can attend seminars or conferences that will help you walk closer with the Lord.
This past week I had the pleasure of attending two seminars at the Billy Graham training center "The Cove" in Asheville NC (check out their website here) Home - Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove the first seminar was called "The Rise of King David" with Will Graham, where we learned why David became such a great leader and how we can too. The second seminar was called "Living Victoriously in a Troubling, Confusing, and Dangerous World" with Richard Blackaby. I honestly gained a wealth of knowledge from both and am SO grateful to have had those experiences.
If you ever have an opportunity, I HIGHLY recommend attending a class there, it's such a peaceful place to reflect on God and to draw closer to him. When we drove through the gate, I instantly felt the weight of the world had been lifted from my shoulders it was a peaceful feeling. I later learned they pray for every person by name before they arrive at the seminar! The whole experience made me feel as if I had a glimpse of what heaven will be like when we are among our fellow Christian brothers and sisters worshipping God.
Best ways to lead others:
Lead by example
Galatians 5:22-23
Lead with humility
1 Peter 5:5; Philippians 2:3
Lead with a compassionate heart
Colossians 3:12
I hope you'll take some time to reflect on how you can lead & impact the lives around you!
1 Timothy 3:1-16
