You Have Not Been Overlooked
Updated: Jan 25, 2023
Can I encourage you to remain strong this morning, so often we may feel as if God has overlooked us and we wonder if he knows the pain & heartache we are dealing with, but the story about Naomi and Ruth reminds us that God is fully aware of everything happening in our lives and it does matter to him.
Despite how difficult your life is right now remember God's promise. Isaiah 61:7 Instead of their shame my people will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace they will rejoice in their inheritance; and so they will inherit a double portion in their land, and everlasting joy will be theirs. Friends, God has you in the palm of his hands, you are not forgotten nor overlooked, remain steadfast in your faith and be patient with God's timing.
Hebrews 6:13 When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself, saying, "I will surely bless you and give you many descendants." And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.
The book of Ruth reminds us of the hardships that Naomi experienced. The death of her husband and later on her two sons, but she still had the love of her daughter-in-law Ruth who never left her. Even though Naomi experienced those devastating losses God blessed her with a new family through Ruth and Boaz.
Ruth 4:14-15 The women said to Naomi: "Praise be to the Lord, who this day has not left you without a kinsman-redeemer. May he become famous throughout Israel! He will renew your life and sustain you in your old age. For your daughter-in-law, who loves you and who is better to you than seven sons, has given him birth."
When I write my messages I am always asking God to share his words not my own, so here is what he put on my heart. "My child, let me tell you that I have not forgotten you, how could I? You are my precious child, know that I am still on the throne and I am in complete control. You may not understand what I am doing in your life, but I ask you to trust me. Trust me wholeheartedly. I ask you to hand over everything you are carrying. Let go of these burdens and allow me to comfort you. I will strengthen you and protect you, all I ask is that you trust me."
Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. i will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
May we always be reminded that God is with us, even in our darkest moments. I hope you will be strengthened by this message, your faith renewed and may you never forget that God loves you!
Hebrews 6:10 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
Our challenge is to trust God's timing!
1 Thessalonians 3:13 May he strengthen your hearts so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones.
