Who Is Itching To Travel?

Because we are confined to our homes, I find myself dreaming of a long road trip & island hopping! Who is with me???

I'm sure we can all relate to the restless feeling of wanting to be somewhere other than where we are, so I thought I'd suggest a few good road trips over the next few weeks for you to check out when we're able to venture out again!

Who's interested in island hopping? I bet you're thinking wait I thought this was a road trip....believe it or not, it is!

One of our favorite trips was driving along the coast of Georgia, South Carolina & North Carolina!! It was the most relaxing vacation we've taken. There are so many great little islands to visit.

My favorite islands to visit:

St Simons Island 1 1/2 hrs south of Savannah GA. This was a surprise, we really enjoyed relaxing at the beautiful beach it was clean & hardly any people. Enjoyed their fun shops too! We visited Fort Frederica Nat'l Monument & enjoyed listening to Calypso music on the promenade while we watched the sunset. Another favorite island was Tybee Island this was only 1/2 hr drive east of Savannah GA great location to spend the day if you're staying in the city!

But I have to admit my favorite island on this trip was Hilton Head Island the reason being is because it's mostly gated communities. When I'm on vacation I'm not a fan of big crowds so when we find a beach that is pretty secluded I'm all over it. It's an hour north east of Savannah GA. We stayed at Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort, SC it's a home away from home destination, you can get studio rooms, 1 or 2 bedroom villas (located on the marsh side of the island) we enjoyed taking the shuttle & eating lunch at the Disney Beach House located on the Atlantic Ocean which you also have access to. Hardly anyone there, it was wonderful! As you know Disney does not disappoint....our entire family enjoyed the resort & all it had to offer. The laid back atmosphere was much needed. The kids loved the pool, bonfires, playing ping pong, having a pool table etc. I'd recommend checking it out! https://hiltonhead.disney.go.com/

We enjoyed stopping in Beaufort SC on our way to Charleston NC it's not an island, but this town is a hidden gem for sure! We enjoyed our Thanksgiving lunch at Henry C Chambers waterfront park. It's an hour north of Hilton Head Island, I'm definitely looking forward to going back & exploring the town & surrounding area!
