Who Am I?
Updated: Jan 25, 2023
Have you ever really put much thought into this question? Well if you have you are not alone, even David question who he was when God promised to bless him and raise up his offspring to succeed him. There have certainly been times in my life when I have been overwhelmed by God's blessings and felt undeserving. 1 Chronicles 17 shows us how much God loved his people and David is a great example of how we should praise God for all he has done for us!
1 Chronicles 17:16-19 Then King David went in and sat before the Lord, and he said: "Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far? And as if this were not enough in your sight, O God, you have spoken about the future of the house of your servant. You have looked on me as though I were the most exalted of men, O Lord God. What more can David say to you for honoring your servant? For you know your servant, O Lord. For the sake of your servant and according to your will, you have done this great thing and made known all these great promises.
Every morning we need to affirm who we are, let's begin with I am BLESSED!!
1 Chronicles 16:11-12 Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced.
Friends we need to become like David and sing praises for all God has done for us as well.
1 Chronicles 29:12-14 Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name. But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand. We are aliens and strangers in your sight, as were all our forefathers. Our days on earth are like a shadow without hope.
I look forward to hearing what follows your "I am..."
Remember we all have the potential to turn our situations around. We can become better or bitter, which one will you choose?
