What Would Please You?
Updated: Jan 25, 2023
Hmmm.....when you hear the question "what would please you" what comes to mind?
Did you immediately say where do I start or did you begin thinking of your favorite foods or travel destinations? Well this question is actually referring what would please God and it's a question we should be asking Him daily.
1 Thessalonians 4:1-2
Finally, brothers, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more. For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.
How often are we more concerned with pleasing ourselves than God? If we are honest it's quite often wouldn't you agree?
How can we overcome our self pleasing behavior?
1 Thessalonians 4:11
Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.
Being disciplined is what will help keep us centered on God and help us to move beyond our own selfish behaviors.
What are some ways you can make God a priority in your life?
Here's a few suggestions that come to mind:
Before you get out of bed read a devotional book
Before you pick up your phone read a chapter in your Bible
Before you turn on your computer spend 5 minutes praying for others
What would you add to this list?
Psalm 94:12
Blessed is the man you discipline, O Lord, the man you teach from your law.
Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Your challenge is to think about & incorporate ways you can continuously please God throughout your day!

You’re a living example to us all. I love your heart! Great suggestions, thanks for sharing!
I try to consciously think how I can be a blessing to others i.e. By calling a shut-in or dropping off groceries or meals.
