What Is Your Ministry?

Updated: Jan 26, 2023

There are so many different ministries out there, have you defined what your ministry is? Are you honing it daily? If you are unsure I encourage you to pray about it, the closer we walk with God the better we can hear his instruction for our life. We are like musical instruments, He is fine tuning us all the time, the more he works with us the better we sound.

Prior to creating this website I used to send out a daily email Mon-Fri to family & friends as a way of staying in touch after we moved from Michigan to California, those emails evolved into this website which has become a ministry for me. A way of reaching out to others with uplifting, encouraging messages, I hope you are blessed by them!

After I read the book "Full Steam Ahead!: Unleash the Power of Vision in Your Company and Your Life" by Jesse Stoner & Kenneth H Blanchard I started writing down what my vision & purpose was for this website, I even had a picture of what the future looked like, but the interesting thing is I kept hearing this voice say "don't get caught up on the end result because it's going to evolve" so I am staying open and excited to see where God takes this!

Ephesians 4:1-3 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

One of my requirements for the website was to reach out to the bereaved as this is something I needed when our son passed away. I think this quote is true, your hardships can be the very thing that becomes your ministry! I encourage you to share your story, because you never know who can be blessed by it.

If you are unsure of what your ministry is I hope these tips will help you, they come from the "Full Steam Ahead" book, I encourage you to read it!

You need the following:

Purpose a reason for it's existence

Picture of the future what is the end result, what do you want to create

Values you need to determine what your values are

Provide guidelines on how you'll pursue your purpose & picture of the future, rank your values of importance, act on your values consistently. Determine how you can make your vision a reality & what steps you'll take to get there. Remember your vision has to benefit everyone it touches!

2 Corinthians 6:3-10

vs 3 We put no stumbling block in anyone's path, so that our ministry will not be discredited.

I'm curious to know what your ministry is, I hope you'll share it with me!

Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of all those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
