We Are All On Borrowed Time
Updated: Jan 25, 2023
Our time on earth is limited for all of us and unfortunately at times our loved ones leave before we are ready to say goodbye. We assume we have all the time in the world and yet quite often we are reminded we don't.
Psalm 90:12
Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
It is critical that we live each day as if it is our last, by doing so we learn to treasure the moments we have in front of us.
We need to learn to let go of the trivial things our kids do that bother us and never take a day for granted. We need to learn how to replace our frustrations with love and encouragement. The best advice I received is pause before you speak. This doesn't mean I always do, but when I have I'm grateful I did.
James 4:14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
Are you ready for Jesus to come?
If not, we need to get ready....some may wonder how we do this. For me it's a matter of aligning our thoughts & actions with Gods. It's about enjoying our families at every stage of life, forgiving daily and being grateful for every day Gods gives us with them. Remember our kids are not our own, God borrowed them to us.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 A Time for Everything There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to uproot, a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to tear down, and a time to build; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to scatter stones, and a time to gather them; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain; a time to search, and a time to give up; a time to keep, and a time to throw away; a time to tear, and a time to mend; a time to be silent, and a time to speak; a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.
This last quote is so true isn't it?
We just never expect to say goodbye to our kids.
Friends, I pray that you are given peace as time goes on...
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
