Trusting God

Updated: Jan 26, 2023

Do you ever find yourself struggling to trust God? Perhaps his timing is taking too long or you are not able to see how your current situation can turn around.

I love what Proverbs tells us Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.. How often do we rely on our own understanding? For most of us it's quite often right?! I think this verse is crucial because our understanding & view is limited by our human nature. God doesn't work on our timetable he works on his own. Having patience is not our strong suit, in fact, we often become frustrated when we have to wait for anything.

When we trust God he tells us he is with us, there is no need to become anxious or frustrated.

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

How many times has God asked you to trust him with your health, your kids, your career? He even asks us to trust his timing.

Psalms 31:14-15 But I trust in you, O Lord; I say, "You are my God." My times are in your hands; deliver me from my enemies and from those to pursue me.

Remember God can turn any situation around at any given time, our job is to be patient until it does. We should be doing everything we can & trust God to do everything we can't.

When doubt arises, I challenge you to remember Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned: the flames will not set you ablaze.

John 14:1-4

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."

Isaiah 26:4

Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal.
