Tell of His Wonders
Friends, will you describe how has God shown up in extraordinary ways for you?
In the Bible we see many examples where God shows His faithfulness to His people. He rescued the Israelites from Egyptians and led them through the Red Sea on dry land (Exodus 14). He crumbled the walls of Jericho (Joshua 6), and even helped David slay the giant Goliath (1 Samual 17).
It's important for us to take inventory and reflect on the times when we have witnessed God's wonders in our own life. He may not have parted the Red Sea for you, but perhaps He spared you from an accident or brought healing to your body when doctors said that wouldn't be possible.
God's wonders are supernatural and go beyond our human understanding and show us His limitless power. I find them to be a source of comfort and assurance knowing that He will literally move mountains for us (Matthew 21:18-22).
Do you keep track of these moments? The Experiencing God Bible study by Henry & Richard Blackaby encourages us to keep track of our Spiritual Markers just as God instructed the Israelites to do in Joshua 4:1-7. I encourage you to get a journal book (it can be as simple as a notepad) make sure to write down what took place and date it so that you can keep track of all the times God has shown up in your life in an extraordinary way!
Psalm 9:1-2 NIV
"I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of your wonders. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.
So how do we honor His faithfulness and goodness in our lives?
First, we praise Him as the Scripture says above, but I believe it goes beyond that. We must live with a grateful heart and tell our children and others of His wonders and faithfulness in our lives.
Psalm 18:30 NIV
"As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him."
I hope you'll take a moment to be encouraged by Chris Tomlin's song "Always" as it is about God's faithfulness!
