Starting With A Clean Slate
Updated: Jan 26, 2023
How many of us begin each day with a clean slate? Before you jump out of bed I encourage you to lay there for a moment and say a prayer of thanks for being given a new day and new opportunities! By practicing gratitude every morning we will start our day off on the right foot and it will help set our minds on what is most important.
What does a clean slate look like for you? Perhaps its a new beginning, starting your day with an optimistic attitude, changing your outlook on life, forgiving yourself for not eating healthy & promising to do better today. Perhaps we choose to forget the hurtful things someone said or did or it's forgetting what our kids did wrong.
At times this is not easy to do, but I encourage you to focus on Paul's words in Philippians 3:13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead. Forget about the remnants of yesterday.
Our challenge is to live fearlessly & make the most out of every opportunity we are given. When negative thoughts slip into our minds, immediately stop & ask yourself five things you are grateful for, it helps retrain our thoughts.
Every day God gives us a clean slate, he forgives us when we fall short of being our best, let's make sure we are giving our family & friends the same opportunity without prejudice. Forget about what happened yesterday, focus on today!
Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Remember it's a new day, what are you going to do with your clean slate?
