Standing On Solid Rock

Updated: Jan 25, 2023

I love the hymn "The Solid Rock" some of you may know it as "My Hope Is Built On Nothing Less" the chorus is "On Christ, the solid rock I stand; all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand." Doesn't this make you break out in song? I will admit I did LOL.

The best way to ensure we are a standing on solid rock, is by building our lives upon a firm foundation which is God. When we rely on God we know he will give us strength to endure every uphill battle we face. We need to become like David and live our lives with complete and total faith knowing God will defend us regardless of how big or small our challenge is.

Matthew 7:24 Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

How many of you lean on God during challenging times?

Are you putting your complete trust in him? I hope these words will encourage you to do so!

2 Samuel 22:32-33 For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.

When you climb a mountain you are always looking for rocks that are firm or solid right? You want to avoid stepping on loose stones which give way & make your climb more difficult. The same goes with our faith, we need to make sure we are not putting our faith in something that is not solid or secure.

Psalm 61:2-3 From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe.

Our challenge is to determine what we are putting our faith in. If we rely on ourselves than we will stumble & fall. Only God can give us the strength we need to endure for the long haul.

2 Corinthians 13:14

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
