Seeking Knowledge and Wisdom
Updated: Jan 25, 2023
This morning I pray that God will fill each one of us with his knowledge and wisdom so we are able to discern what is his will for our lives. During these uncertain times it is imperative that we put an importance on what God is teaching us in these moments.
There is knowledge and wisdom to be gained with every experience we have.
Colossians 1:9-12 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may life a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way; bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.
Proverbs 18:15 The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge; the ears of the wise seek it out.
I hope you will take time to reflect on your life and all God has taught you over the years. Think about the moments he has humbled you or taught you empathy and compassion through loss.
I pray by doing so you will be strengthened when you realize how he has guided your steps to where you are today. Galatians 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Whatever your circumstance is today, stay the course and know that God is with you and he will continue to guide you.
Be vigilant in seeking his wisdom so he can continue to direct your steps!
1 Kings 3:9-13
So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours? The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this. So God said to him, "Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice, I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be. Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for - both riches and honor - so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings. And if you walk in my ways and obey my statutes and commands as David your father did, I will give you a long life."
I love this prayer, I hope you do too!
