Proceed With Caution
Updated: Jan 25, 2023
We are reminded throughout our lives from a very young age all the way into adulthood on how we should always proceed with caution. Our parents told us to watch for cars when crossing a road, when we became teenagers they warned us about relationships. Road construction signs tell us to proceed with caution through a construction site and the Bible tells us to be cautious in how we speak and treat each other. We are reminded to test everything to ensure it's good.
1 Thessalonians 5:19-22
Do not put out the Spirit's fire; do not treat prophecies with contempt. Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil.
Is there someone or something in your life that you should be cautious with? Have you heard the saying to much of a good thing can be bad? So true isn't it? Perhaps you are being led down the wrong path by various habits or negative people in your life? Who enjoys a good glass of wine? I know I sure do. Whether you enjoy shopping or a glass of wine we need to be cautious that we are not overindulging.
You may even have someone in your life that you are trying to prevent from going down the wrong path. If so, I hope these Bible verses will encourage you proceed with caution!
1 Timothy 6:7-8
For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.
Can I remind you to proceed with caution?
Our challenge is to make sure we are being mindful of all we say and do!
Matthew 6:19-21 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
