Measuring Strength
Updated: Jan 25, 2023
How do you measure your own strength? Do you measure it by how much you work out or by how much weight you can lift? Maybe you measure your strength by how much you have endured or what you have overcome in your life, would that be more accurate?
Isaiah 40:31
but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
What is another way you can measure your strength?
For me it's acknowledging how much strength God has given me. When we recognize God's strength versus our own, we begin to realize we can do all things through him who strengthens us, we just have to trust him.
Psalm 28:7
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.
In my coaching session we discussed strengths and how they are different for everyone, based on our life experiences.
My classmate said something that spoke volumes to me & even humbled me. At times we use our own strengths to measure others instead of offering them grace when they are not as strong as we feel they should be.
1 Chronicles 16:11
Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.
Friends, when gain a new awareness and take the time to see peoples strengths and weaknesses for what they really are it allows us to show them God's grace when they need it most.
Exodus 15:2
The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him.
When we acknowledge that our strength comes from God it changes everything for us. We realize no matter what we face in life his strength is sufficient for us.
Ephesians 6:10
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
God's strength will carry you through every difficult trial you will face, be strong in the Lord.
