Love Without Borders
Updated: Jan 25, 2023
Friends we need to ask ourselves if we are raising our children to be loving human beings who honor and celebrate each other's uniqueness or are we raising them to be judgmental of those who are different? Let's remove the borders we have created in our lives, whether it is the borders within our families, neighborhoods, our ethnic backgrounds, states or country. We are all one under God, each human being was created by God for a purpose and every life should be honored.
Mark 12:31 The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.
No matter who we come in contact with, every interaction we have should represent Gods love. We should share kindness & smiles with strangers, we should look for ways to help our neighbors and show empathy and compassion to the less fortunate. It truly baffles me that some people have so much hatred for those who are not like them. We need to ensure we are not passing this arrogance or intolerable behavior on to our children & grandchildren.
Romans 12:9-10
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.
What does unconditional love mean to you? Can you give examples of how you have loved others unconditionally?
Romans 13:10 Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
Our challenge is to take inventory in our own lives, look for areas that need improving. Can we be kinder or more compassionate toward others? Do we need to make amends with someone in our own family? I hope we will all take this opportunity to humble ourselves and remove our own stubbornness so that we can apologize for things we have said or done wrong.
Let's love others beyond our borders!
1 Corinthians 2:3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.
