Living With An Abundance Mentality

What is your definition of abundance and how would you describe abundance in your own life, what does that look like for you?
Ephesians 3:20
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
Abundance is having more than enough, it's prosperity, success and wealth, but it can also be just simply knowing where your next meal will come from or having food in your cupboards.
For some abundance is defined by the love they have in their lives and being surrounded by family & friends. Think of how many people do not have that...it makes me think of the elderly people in nursing homes and how many are missing their loved ones because they're not able to see them.
Deuteronomy 30:1-10 reminds us that when we turn to the Lord we will be prosperous, I hope you will read these verses!
Living with an abundance mentality helps us keep the right perspective on life. We may feel we don't have enough or wish we had more, but when we focus on what we DO have we begin to realize how blessed we truly are to have all that we've been given.
Every morning we should wake up and immediately thank God for the abundance he has showered on us, think of your home, the bed you slept in or the warm blankets and pillows that give you comfort.
When I worked for AAA every Christmas we were given $1000 to spend on families that we adopted. Can I tell you that was a real eye opener for me because I would meet the families prior to shopping to see what their needs were and often times I saw kids who didn't have beds, comforters or even pillows so we would purchase beds & bedding for them. I was always surprised by how little people had, it quickly reminded me of how blessed I was as it made me appreciate everything God has provided for me and my family. Not everyone is as blessed as we are so it's imperative that we give back & help others who are less fortunate.
What about your health? Do you have your vision or are you able to get around by yourself? If so, you have abundance. Do you have clean running water or a vehicle? Than you have abundance. When we break down all the conveniences we take for granted every day we realize that we are living an abundant life. We no longer view them as insignificant as we being to treasure all that we have.
Jeremiah 33:6
Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.
Let this be a week of gratitude, every morning think of 5 things you are grateful for and take time to give thanks to God for all he has given you. Then your challenge is to share what you've been given with a stranger! Need ideas? Donate to a shelter! Whether it's warm clothes, jackets, boots, gloves, food etc. I challenge you to give away your extras because if we all dig deep into the closets and cupboards I would bet we have more than enough to give to someone else. Let's look for ways to lift the spirit of others and bless them!! I hope you will share what that experience was like for you!

If they obey and serve him, they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity and their years in contentment.

This is the time in particular that we reflect on the many blessings that God has bestowed upon us. I try to share with the elderly by preparing and delivering meals and it gives me great joy.
