Life Can Seem Like A Circus Act

Updated: Jan 25, 2023

Does your life feel like a three ring circus sometimes? Even though you are the ringmaster you are having a difficult time directing all the performances? Sounds like life doesn't it? We are always trying to balance it all, having adequate time for our spouses, our kids, our careers and what about ourselves? Are you creating enough quiet time to stay connected with God in the midst of all the craziness around you? If you find yourself struggling to juggle everything on your plate it is a sign that you need to give up control and allow God to become the ringmaster (director) of your life.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

When you attend a circus you see all kinds of balancing acts such as tightrope walking, trick riding - stunts while riding a horse, juggling, riding unicycles, you name it. You will even see clowns!

Just like a circus, we try to put on these performances for others to show our talents or to show we have it all figured out, yet the minute we drop one ball it seems everything comes crashing down on us. Sound familiar? I am sure we can all relate at some point. It may even be that we all know of a silly clown in our own family! Do you know why I like the clowns? Because they remind us not to take life so seriously all the time.

In order for us to give a great performance we need to allow God to direct each area of our lives.

How do we do this?

1) Ask God for help daily!

2) Spend time alone with God and allow Him to speak to you.

3) Stay mindful of each moment in front of you.

4) Give your undivided attention to the person in front of you.

5) Be the best version of yourself each time.

6) When we fall short forgive yourself and remember not to take yourself so seriously.

Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
