It's Time!

Updated: Jan 25, 2023

It's a new year which means it's time for a fresh start!

How many times have we heard the sentence "It's time to ..."? I think about when I was younger and my parents would say "it's time for dinner" or "it's time to come inside" after being outside all day playing. Perhaps you've said "it's time to pick up your toys" to your kids. If you are like me you may have been in relationships and felt "it's time to move on" as you realized this person is not who God wants you to be with.

At the beginning of a new year we often find ourselves thinking "it's time for change" as we think about old habits that no longer serve us. Are you ready to get rid of them? Perhaps you are wondering how it's even possible because they are so ingrained in you. Well I am here to tell you that nothing is impossible and with God you can overcome ANY and EVERY negative habit you have.

Philippians 4:13

I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

What is one step you can take today that will move you beyond or old habits? Once you determine what that is for you I encourage you to act on it. Remember we've had some of these habits our entire life so it will take you time to remove them from your daily lives so be patient with yourself during the process of elimination!

Hebrews 11:6

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

One of the ways to ensure that you will be successful is to remember that you cannot do this alone. You need God's strength to help you so when you find yourself becoming frustrated reach out to God and ask for his guidance. Put your trust in Him and he will be there to help you and strengthen you!

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
