It's Okay...

Updated: Jan 25, 2023

"It's okay" speaks to just about everything that happens in life doesn't it? No matter what happens it's going to be okay.

If we make mistakes it's okay because that's how we learn. Don't beat yourself up over your mistakes, they are giving you opportunities to learn valuable lessons, embrace the lessons and move on.

It's okay to say no to anything that doesn't align with your spiritual journey even if it upsets others. Follow what God puts on your heart and stay true to it, you'll never regret it. By doing so you create a more intimate relationship with God, don't sacrifice this gift.

Isaiah 26:3

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal.

It's also okay to set boundaries and adhere to them even though other's don't agree with them. Boundaries protect you and your well-being.

Acts 17:26-27

From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though is not far from each one of us.

It's okay to disagree with others, but don't allow yourself to lash out or become bitter just because someone disagrees with you. Learn to respect different points of views. This is so critical during this presidential election.

Matthew 5:44

But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

And never forget that it's okay not to be okay sometimes, it's part of human nature. When emotions rise learn to embrace and explore them, determine what triggered the emotions because they are speaking to you. Give yourself the permission to be emotional. Instead of lashing out with resentment and bitterness, go within and just allow yourself the space to sit with the emotion. Ask God to be with you in that moment and ask for his guidance with it. Stuffing the emotions only delays us dealing with them, remember there is nothing wrong with being emotional, God designed us to be emotional beings. God never promised us an easy life, but he did promise that he would be with us every step of the way!

John 16:33

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

We are all learning valuable lessons from each experience we are given, embrace the life God has given you because in the end you are going to be okay!

Hebrews 12:4-7

In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: "My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son." Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?
