It's Leap Day!

Updated: Jan 26, 2023

What better day than Leap Day to begin living a life that has meaning & purpose!

Friends, we've been given an extra 24hr hours that we didn't have last year; so my question to you is what are you going to do with it?

Sometimes in life we get so busy with our daily tasks of taking care of our kids, running errands & doing chores that we forget to "LIVE" and fully experience everything life has to offer. This morning I'd like to encourage you to leap into your passion! Set the vacuum aside for a moment.… WHAT?! I know right? But trust me, when we start thinking about what our God given talents are and we find away to incorporate them in our daily lives, we instantly bring joy into each day. Don't get me wrong the chores still need to get done, but don't allow those to keep you from enjoying your life as well.

Perhaps you love to paint or play piano; set aside an hour in your day to pursue them because when you do, your life will be enriched by it. I'd even encourage you to find a way to share your talents with others; perhaps you can create an art class at a senior center or play the piano for them? It's a proven fact, when we share joy with others, we become more joyful too!

Philippians 3:13-15

Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead. I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.

I'm curious, are you the type of person who set's goals for yourself? If not, I encourage you to start today! Give yourself a weekly goal, a monthly goal and a yearly goal and when Leap Year roles around again you'll be able to gauge how far you've come! Sounds fun right? Okay, maybe not for everyone...but I do know you will be amazed by how much you've accomplished when you set goals. Goals give us an opportunity to determine what is most important to us, they help us stay focused & keep things in perspective. Sometimes we get overwhelmed by challenges we're facing and goals can help us overcome those challenges.

We all have limitations but don't let those stop you from enjoying the life God wants you to have. Get creative in your approach!! You've got this!!

Psalms 90:12

Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
