In the waiting

How many of you find yourselves in a waiting period or a holding pattern in your life? Are you raising your hand? Well I can certainly relate, as there are times when I found myself waiting for God to show me the next step to take.
We need to be mindful that while we are waiting we can be tempted to lose faith or to feel anxious or uncertain about our future. But when we put our hope in the Lord we can find peace in the waiting because we know God is working on our behalf. I hope the words below will give you a fresh perspective while you wait quietly on the Lord.
Lamentations 3:22-26
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
At different times in my life I have felt God nudging me as if to say "get ready, change is on the horizon" and at times this prompting has stirred excitement within me and others it has caused me to question the path he is leading me down because I didn't understand it. But looking back I can see how His hand was guiding me through every situation. Blessings have come from tragedies and peace and contentment have come when I have trusted and followed his guiding hand.
I am currently reading a book called "What Happens When Women Say Yes To God" by Lysa Terkeurst and I cannot say enough good things about this book. It's part of a Women's Bible study and let me tell you it is speaking loudly to me. As if it's another prompting from God, reminding me to say "yes" to him.
Psalm 28:7
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.
Friends, I pray you will be filled with peace and contentment during your waiting period, knowing God that is FULL of compassion and he is faithful to those who put their hope in him.
He has an amazing future in store for you and it will be worth the wait!
Psalm 27:14
Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
