Honoring Our Fallen Hero's

Updated: Jan 25, 2023

Today I would like to honor all the men and women who have paid the ultimate price for our country, how truly blessed we are to have people in our country who are willing to defend our freedom and sacrifice their lives for it, there is NO greater gift or honor! John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

My heart goes out to each spouse, child and parent who has experienced the death of their loved one and/or child through this kind of sacrifice. May we never forget that their death allows each of us to enjoy the numerous freedoms we have. Remember while we are celebrating with our families this weekend they are grieving the death of their loved one.

Psalm 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

My prayer is that each of us will pause this weekend to think about their selfless acts of love for our country and the ultimate sacrifice they gave for you and me. I would also encourage you to think about them and their families throughout the year as well.

To the parents who grieve their child today my heart breaks with you. I pray God will comfort you and you are proud knowing your child was a selfless, generous person. They were a living example to each of us!

1 Corinthians 16:13-14 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love.

Our challenge today is to thank our men and women who are in the military not only for their service, but for sacrificing their time with their own families. We are blessed to have their daily protection.

Dear Lord I pray you will put your hand of protection over our military, their families, and our police officers who protect us daily as well. Father, you know all the sacrifices they make to keep us safe, we ask you to be with their families and give each of them strength to endure all that they face on a daily basis for us. Let us never forget your son Jesus who also paid the ultimate sacrifice for each of us when he died on the cross to save us from our sins. We are indebted to you all, thank you is not a big enough word to describe my gratitude. In Jesus name, Amen!

James 1:12 Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
