His Flame Burns Within

Updated: Jan 25, 2023

As I sit here by the fire this morning I think of Gods flame that burns within me. I feel his warmth and it comforts me. We are all guided by his light just as he guided his people out of Egypt in Exodus 13:17-22 vs21 By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.

At times our circumstances can make us feel as if we are walking through the fire alone. Are you in this space? If so, it is times like this when we need to walk by faith and realize his guidance comes to us in many forms, especially through Gods Word. I encourage you to read it, meditate on it and I would even encourage you to write down the passages that speak to your heart, put them on your refrigerator or mirror so you can remind yourself daily that you are not alone!

Isaiah 43:2

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

You may be in a place where you feel like your flame has burned out. No matter how far off track we become our flame is never extinguished. Sometimes our judgment becomes clouded because we give in to our sinful desires instead of asking God for his strength to help us overcome them.

Our perception is through the lens of our own insecurities, hurts and pains. We are too close to the situation to see the circumstance clearly or as God sees them. Ask God to help you change your perception so you can see your life through Gods lens and realize just how amazing you are and all he has in store for you!

Friends our challenge today is to remember that Gods flame is always burning within you. He is walking with you through the fire and he will protect you, just as he protected Daniel in the lions den. God is always reminding us to keep the faith, especially when we cannot make sense of our journey.

Daniel 6:1-28 vs21-22 Daniel answered, "O king, live forever! My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, O king."

Let your light shine!
