God's Word Is Eternal
Updated: Jan 25, 2023
How blessed are we that God's Word is eternal? It teaches, directs and guides us every step of the way! It even shows us how to keep an eternal perspective by not sweating the small stuff, it reminds us of what is important and what we should let go of.
Psalm 119:89
Your word, O Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.
How many times have you heard people say the Bible is not relevant for our times or that it is outdated? I often wonder how anyone could believe these lies and the scary part is, they do but what I find most disheartening is when I hear people say they believe parts of the Bible, but not all of it and the only conclusion you can draw from this type of thinking is that the Bible contradicts their lifestyle and they're not willing to give it up, so in order to justify their behavior they say the Bible isn't true.
How often have we not listened to God's word because it went against what we wanted? It's a humbling thought and quite often we choose our selfish desires over God's will for our lives because we lack self control and fail to stay disciplined.
When you read the Bible we are reminded in numerous verses that God's Word is in fact eternal and alive! Hebrews 4:12:13 says: For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Regardless of what we are willing to accept or not, God's word is in fact eternal. His word is God breathed out for us, it's precious and should be respected and protected.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.
Our challenge is to hold on to the promise of God's Word because it speaks truth!
John 6:47 I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life.
Your challenge is to change your perspective, allow yourself to view your circumstances from an eternal perspective, I can guarantee when you view your life from God's perspective you will begin leading a more fulfilling life!
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
