God's Word Brings Balance

Updated: Jan 25, 2023

How many of you have multiple things going on at the same time? Have you figured out how to balance it all? I love how the Bible tells us we need to show restraint, hmmm....how many of us are able to do this and keep everything under control? It seems pretty difficult doesn't it?

Well this is certainly where I find myself lately, trying to find that balance between my Christian Life Coaching classes, teaching Bible study, putting on retreats and seminars, spending time with my family & friends, trying to stay in contact with my mom, creating time alone with God, the list goes on and on, perhaps your list is even longer than mine.

Proverbs 23:4

Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint.

Creating balance in our lives must become a priority, but the big question is where do we even begin? The Bible tells us to seek God first and he will provide for us. In Matthew 6:33 Jesus says But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

So the question we need to ask ourselves is, what has become a priority in our lives?

Where are you dedicating the most time? Is it beneficial to you and your well being?

If not, I challenge you to start letting go of habits and behaviors that are preventing you from living a peaceful life.

1 Timothy 2:1-3

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and please God our Savior who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

After weeks of planning, today I had the pleasure of attending Dr. Kathy James seminar at our church, can I tell you it was exactly the message I needed to hear. Dr. James has written a book called "Finally, No More Excuses" I don't know about you but this title speaks volumes to me, how about you? What excuses are keeping you from living the peaceful life that God wants for you?

Friends we need to keep readjusting our priorities because when we make God our first priority, we begin to experience his peace! Who can use a little more peace? I certainly know I could use it and I would bet you can too.

What will it take to start saying no to worldly things and yes to God? Take a look at your life and determine one thing you can eliminate. I would challenge you to do that every day and see where it leads you....I hope you will share your progress with me!
