God Has Your Back
How many times have you witnessed God stepping in to protect you?
For some, you may not recognize God's help because you are not walking closely with Him, or you are not sure how to look for it, you may even think it was just a coincidence.
Perhaps you have never been introduced to God before, if this is the case, then I would like to introduce you to the God of all creation, the God who loves you deeply and we know this because He sent His son Jesus to die for our sins! The depth of His love is unfathomable and inconceivable. We cannot even comprehend how deep and how wide this love really is. Ephesians 3:16-20
Who is God?
Genesis 1:1 NIV
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
Exodus 20:11 NIV
"For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy."
Revelation 4:11 NIV
"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being."
John 3:16-18 NIV "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned."
Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV
"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."
Once again, I have been reminded that there is spiritual warfare going on all around us whether we see it or believe it, there is. I know this to be true because multiple times I have witnessed God stepping in to protect me from evil, even when I didn't realize the full scope of it at the time it was happening.
One particular evening I was reflecting back on how that day unfolded and was able see how God orchestrated my entire day. Beginning first thing that morning when he rearranged another person's schedule (she had an "unexpected" cancellation) this freed up an hour of her time, so she reached out to me, and we were able to walk through a coaching tool together. She spoke God's truth and His Word into me, she gave me the tools and knowledge I needed specifically for that afternoon, unbeknownst to both of us.
That evening God showed me very vividly that He was aware of what was about to take place earlier in the day, so He went out of His way to ensure I was prepared for what was about to happen. God gave me the words and the restraint, I needed to handle an unexpected situation.
Friends, that experience not only showed me how deeply God loves me because He was willing move mountains and rearrange schedules for me; but it also showed me that I can walk confidently into the unknown without fear because I now know without a doubt that the God of this universe has my back, and He will protect me from whatever lies ahead.
Now let me be clear, that evening when I had this realization, I was deeply humbled and overwhelmed because I am a sinner to falls short daily. I am not deserving of this love, so I do not say this boastfully or with arrogance. In fact, that evening when I realized God has my back, I instantly heard "do not let this become a source of pride." It's okay for us to be confident in knowing God will protect us, but we should never be proud or boastful about it because that allows sin to enter our hearts.
Friends, if you are not walking closely with the Lord, I must encourage you to start immediately. Begin your day with thanksgiving and prayer. What are you grateful for? Ask God to reveal to you through His Word what He wants you to know because we are all in the midst of spiritual battles and we need God and His angels to overcome them. We do not have the strength to fight them on our own.
Psalm 91:11-12 NIV
"For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone."
I want to challenge you to start reading five chapters of Psalms a day and one chapter of Proverbs a day like Billy Graham did and pay attention to how God speaks to you. If you don't have a study Bible, I want to encourage you to get one because it will help you understand the contexts of the verses.
Friends, God has your back, He will fight for you because He loves you deeply! I pray you will be blessed by this new journey you are about to embark on with Him as you become aware of His presence in your life!
Isaiah 41:13 NIV
"For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you."
