Follow The Leader
Updated: Jan 26, 2023
Happy Sunday to you & welcome to March!
I might be dating myself when I ask this question, but when you were little did you ever play the game follow the leader? It's where kids line up behind the leader, follow them wherever they go and mimic their actions; but if you fail to follow the leader or do what the leader does you're out of the game.
The good news for us is if we follow Jesus Christ as our Leader we will never be taken out of the game! Because when we realize we are not following his example we can repent and he will give us the gift of grace & mercy. Jesus gave us plenty of examples in the Bible to live by; so look for ways to lend a helping hand to those in need, show kindness & compassion, be uplifting & empathetic, but most importantly we should forgive others as God forgives us.
1 Peter 2:21
To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
Do you ever contemplate life and wonder why God has you where you are? I know I certainly have, but I love what Psalms 32:8 says "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you." I'm so grateful a dear friend sent me this Bible passage yesterday, because what a relief it is to know we don't need to have everything figured out. Sometimes we just need to surrender and follow the direction our Leader is taking us.
Whether you are in a season of blessings or hardships, I encourage you to keep the faith, because we will gain valuable lessons from both. When we're grateful for our blessings it help us to live in the present moment; while our hardships can teach us patience, endurance & strength. So I encourage you to follow Jesus' lead and allow him to direct your steps in every season of life!
"God allows us to experience the low points of life in order to teach us lessons that we could learn in no other ways." C.S. Lewis
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
