Finding Refuge

Updated: Jan 25, 2023

What comes to mind when you think of refuge? Do you think of the National Wildlife Refuges that protect so many different varieties of wildlife? Or does a friend come mind when you are facing challenging times? Perhaps even your home is a safe haven for you. There are many different forms of refuge, but the one I'd like to focus on today is the ultimate refuge. The refuge that only comes from God, he shelters us, gives us comfort, he even gives us the peace & security we long for.

Psalm 91:4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

God has been my refuge countless times as I'm sure he has been for you as well when you have faced adversities. In these challenging times you may find yourself becoming restless the longer this shelter in place continues. We long to be with our family & friends again, we long for things to be as they were prior to this virus attack. This is an opportunity for us to seek refuge in God. Friends I encourage you to meditate on his Word, instead of trying to find security from the outside world, let's turn to God & ask him to protect us and bring contentment into our lives.

Psalm 62:8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.

Our challenge is to reach out to God in prayer, allow him to restore you & protect you. I pray you will find peace & contentment when you surrender to him!
