Filled with the Spirit
Updated: Jan 25, 2023
Even during these unsettled times when our home is under evacuation alert due to the Dixie Fire I am filled with the Holy Spirits calm and peaceful presence, knowing that no matter what happens God is with us and he will provide. He has proven this over & over throughout our lives.
His faithfulness never changes even when our circumstances do.
It's a strange feeling to pull away from your home with a few belongings in your vehicle wondering if it will be the last time you see your home standing or the trees towering above it. We love our home on the lake, but we also know that our home is not everything. Wherever we are, that is where our home is.
Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
This morning these verses spoke to my heart and I hope they will speak to yours as well, no matter what you are facing God is there with you in the midst of it. I pray you will take comfort in His encouraging words!
Psalm 42:11 Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.
Romans 8:26
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
Acts 4:31
After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
Acts 1:8
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Acts 1:8 reminds us that our current situations give us an opportunity to witness our faith no matter what we are facing and to explain that our peace comes from God. We are here to be his witnesses!
Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
