Embracing Changes
Updated: Jan 25, 2023
The question of the day is: Do you adapt to changes easily or do you find yourself struggling to accept them?
Change is a part of life. From the time we are born we are physically changing from an infant to an adult, just as a caterpillar changes into a butterfly. We also become more spiritually mature when we consistently study God's word, which means change is a good thing!
Hebrews 5:12-14 In fact, though by this time you ought be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God's word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
Do you know someone who struggles with getting older? Does this describe you? We dye our hair to cover our gray (which I'm guilty of) we get facelifts, arm lifts, tummy tucks etc. Why do we have a difficult time accepting the changes that happen naturally with our bodies? Did you know that more than $16 billion dollars was spent on cosmetic plastic surgeries and minimally-invasive procedures in 2016? This blew my mind as it goes to show how many people are not able to embrace the natural changes that occur and just how unhappy or insecure we are with ourselves.
Friends, we can find true happiness if we would just marvel at what a gift it is to be human and accept the way God uniquely designed each of us! Psalm 139:14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Instead of becoming frustrated by changes we should remember Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Learn to adapt to change because the benefits will always outweigh staying where you are.
Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Our life will become richer and more meaningful when we learn how to embrace every change we face. Be grateful for every experience you have, as you know each one is teaching you valuable lessons that will strengthen you and teach you how to become spiritually mature!
Ecclesiastes 3:1 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.
