Discovering Your Path

Updated: Jan 25, 2023

How many of you feel as if you are on the path God has planned for you?

If you are unsure, what steps are you currently taking to determine what that path is? The new year is a great time to ask God to clarify the direction He wants you to go.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Think about ways that you can accomplish this, for example:

1) Create quiet time with God, reflect on what he is putting on your heart.

2) Start journaling and begin each day with a question such as what does God want to say to me this morning or what is God's vision for my day and allow him to speak to you through your writing.

3) Spend time reading His word, the Bible is his LIVING word it speaks to us and we would be wise to spend time reading it because we gain wisdom from doing so.

4) I encourage you to get involved with a Bible study to learn more about God and who he is and all that he has taught us.

5) Jesus was a living example and exemplified The fruit of the Spirit, find ways to express the fruits in your daily life. EX: find ways to show kindness to a stranger.

James 1:5

5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

The list above is just to get you started. I encourage you to take some time to come up with your own ideas as well and I would even encourage you to share those with on this blog so others can learn from you as well.

Hebrews 12:11

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

When we are unsure of the direction God is taking us we need to rely on our faith in him and trust that we are not alone on this journey. God is guiding you every step of the way, make sure you are listening to the direction he is telling you to go!

Psalm 32:8-10

"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you. Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord's unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him."
