Dealing With The Uncertain Times

Updated: Jan 26, 2023

There are so many uncertainties in the world globally right now, this virus is literally stopping everyone in their tracks. It's even filling our minds with fear & anxious thoughts. Watching the news only seems to magnify these fears as people are feeling vulnerable in ways they've never experienced before.

Even in uncertain times God calls us to trust him and not to be anxious about anything, even when our future is unknown and we are facing devastating times. I encourage you to read Matthew 6:25-34 about worry. vs 25-26 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

In many ways I feel this virus has been a wake up call & Gods way of speaking to us, myself included. It's a critical time for each of us to be prudent & reflect on what has been a priority in our lives that shouldn't be and a call for us to change the way we think & live.

Acts 2:38-39

Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off - for all whom the Lord our God will call.

How easily worry affects our daily lives, we fear what is happening with the stock market, our finances, our jobs & even our health. But when we trust God it eliminates that worry. Worry does not change our situation only God does.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

The verse I always turned to is Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. I cannot tell you how often this verse comes to mind. It allows me to take a deep breath & realize I don't need all the answers, nor do I need to know the outcome of every situation. Because God is in complete control.

I encourage you not to lose hope even when circumstances seem hopeless. God is still in complete control, trust that he will see you through!!

Romans 15:13

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
