Count Your Blessings

Updated: Jan 25, 2023

When we focus on the positive aspects of life rather than the negative ones it helps us keep the right perspective. For me starting with Gods unconditional love, forgiveness, guidance, grace and mercy is a great place to start counting our blessings.

Today was pretty special for several reasons, first I was able to talk to my mom & sister via Facetime! To some this may not seem like much, but when you live 2200+ miles away from your family being able to see their faces means all the world to you! The second reason today was a blessing is our church reconvened for the first time since the lockdown. Can I tell you it was REALLY great seeing everyone's smiley faces again!

For the last couple of months we have been blessed to stay connected with our church family by using Zoom for Bible studies etc. we also used Zoom to stay connected with our family & friends all over the country as well, I'm grateful we have had this tool during these challenging times! What tools have you used to stay connected with your family & friends?

Spending time with our dear friends today reminded me of just how blessed we are, not only to have them in our lives, but that we all get to live in a beautiful area surrounded by Gods beauty with the lake and the mountains around us. For me this message would be a long one if I counted every one of my blessings, so I will just say I am blessed beyond measure. Life may not be perfect, but I still have LOTS to be grateful for! How about you?

John 1:16 From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another.

What blessings are you pondering this evening?

Despite what is happening in the world, we still have SO much to be grateful for. I heard an inspiring interview of a guy who contracted the COVID-19 disease, he beat the odds and despite his continued uphill battle he's grateful to be alive even though he lost his fingers and toes to this disease. Friends our perspectives make all the difference in our lives. Do you see your glass as half full or half empty?

We need to ask ourselves if we are looking at our situations positively or negatively and continuously realign our thoughts accordingly.

Psalm 40:5

Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare.

Our challenge is to wake up every morning thanking God for each blessing we have been given, even the simple ones! You know having fresh water, indoor plumbing, food to eat... The list is endless isn't it?

I hope you will share some of your blessings with me!

John 20:29 Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
