Choices

Updated: Jan 25, 2023

Every day we are presented with choices and each of our choices good or bad, have led us to this very moment. Choices offer us opportunities to choose right from wrong, to choose a healthy lifestyle or an unhealthy one, to trust God or to worry. We can even choose to have a positive or negative attitude or to be generous and kind.

1 Corinthians 10

vs 13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

Are you content with the choices you have made over the years? How many times have you made the wrong choice? I bet each one of us would say COUNTLESS times right?! Especially in our younger years...but that is how we learn!

How many times have you found yourself just going along with a friends decision knowing in your heart it was not the best decision for you? I'm sure we have all been there, but as we mature in our spiritual walk God gives us the courage to walk away from people or situations that no longer influence us in a positive or spiritual way.

Don't be afraid to walk away!

Proverbs 12:26

A righteous man is cautious in friendship, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

Lord knows I have not always made the right choices, but I do know I have learned valuable lessons from each experience. Some of my choices have allowed me to reevaluate what I valued most and what kind of impact I wanted to have on those around me.

Have you seen the Nicholas Sparks movie "The Choice" I love how Travis says life is all about decisions. Little, seemingly insignificant decisions that clear the road for monster truck like altering ones. You see, every path you take leads to another choice, and some choices can change everything.

Have you had to make some hard choices lately?

When you question whether you are making the right choice or not, I encourage you to take counsel from God because he is always there to guide you!

Psalm 32:8

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.

Friends I hope this message will cause you to pause and reflect on your own choices and encourage you to make choices that will be positive life altering ones. The kind that will impact your life for the better as well as the lives around you.
