Becoming A Woman Of Excellence

Updated: Jan 26, 2023

As I prepare for our Women's Bible Study I realize how burdensome it feels when I think about becoming a woman of excellence. Perhaps you can you relate to this feeling as well.

1 Thessalonians 4:1

Finally, brothers, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more.

In Kingdom Woman Tony Evans says "Even though we want excellence in the things we receive, often we lack excellence in the things that we do." "Being a woman of excellence simply means living your finest, giving your best." "He (God) desires excellence in all you do."

Thinking about the definition of excellence can be overwhelming at times. Remember ladies, we are not called to perfection; but we should be continually doing our best. If you are like me this is easier said than done. But I love what Tony says "it means doing all you can with all you have at that moment." What stands out to me is "at that moment" because if we stay in the present moment and think only about the task in front of us, it becomes more manageable doesn't it? It keeps us from becoming overwhelmed with everything else that needs to get done.

Philippians 3:13-14

Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Do you want to know what the secret is to being a woman of excellence? Tony says "it's a short memory coupled with a clear direction. If you are going to live in excellence, you have to forget yesterday."

Our challenge is to focus on the moment in front of us, do the best you can where you are. Tomorrow, start with a clean slate & do your best again, remember friends, excellence is not a destination, it's a continual process.
