Be Prepared

Updated: Jan 25, 2023

If the Dixie Fire has taught me anything, it is that we need to be prepared for the unexpected. To me this consists of being physically, mentally, spiritually prepared or as Dr. Robin Revis Pyke would say "we need to be pre-prayered up," I love that analogy! Be praying for God's guidance and provision in your life.

Ephesians 2:10

For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Are you prepared to face challenges and uncertainties in your life?

Friends, trials and challenges will always be apart of life, we cannot escape them. So it's important to know how to prepare ourselves for the unexpected situations that surface in our lives.

What steps have you taken to prepare yourself spiritually, mentally, physically?

Are you eating healthy or exercising? Have you given yourself permission to take care of yourself mentally or emotionally? What about your spiritual life, are you spending quality time with God, reading His Word?

Psalm 25:4-5

Show me your ways, O Lord, teach me your paths; guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

We need to know WHO our anchor is during trials and we need to know WHERE our strength comes from, because if we don't know the answers to these two questions we are going to struggle when unexpected circumstances arise.

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

If you find that you are lacking care in any area of your life, I want to encourage you to change your habits, make self care a priority! Dedicate time for your health, wellness and spiritual life.

Each day make a new commitment to yourself and to God.

Matthew 11:28-30

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Most importantly, remember when we are prepared, we are aligning ourselves up with opportunities for God to work in and through us! We don't want to miss out on these opportunities because we failed to make God and ourselves a priority.
