Awakened

Updated: Jan 25, 2023

Have you been awakened?

With all the fires burning in California, hurricanes and pandemic issues happening, are you feeling as if we are continuously receiving wake up calls? These disasters remind us of how quickly everything that is important to us can be taken away and what we need to ask ourselves is do we have our priorities wrong? Have we put importance on "things" and not enough importance on our relationship with God? Hmmm.....sure makes you think doesn't it?

Psalm 57:1-2 Have mercy on me, O God, have mercy on me, for in you my soul takes refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until this disaster has passed.

Thankfully God reminds us that there is hope when we are patient and faithful in prayers. Romans 12:12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. We need to pray for our country, family, friends, neighbors & all those who are suffering.

Romans 13:11 And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.

Our challenge is to look for ways to incorporate God into our day, read the Bible or a devotional every day. Say a prayer of thanks before getting out of bed, find ways to put God first! If God is not apart of your morning routine, I challenge you to wake up every morning and spend the first minutes & hours of your day with God and share with me how it has changed you!

Jesus was a great example of how we should always pray and seek God's will, we need to ensure our will is aligning with God's. If not, this is our time to be awakened!

Mark 1:35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
