Are You Sleeping Well?

When you ponder this question, what comes to mind? How many of us would say we find ourselves energized when we wake up and how many feel as if you could sleep longer regardless of how many hours you sleep?

"Sleep is essential to every process in the body, affecting our physical and mental functioning the next day, our ability to fight disease and develop immunity, and our metabolism and chronic disease risk."


What does God say about rest in Genesis 2:2-3? "By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done."


I read an article which talks about the importance of sleep, and it made me realize that I fail to put enough importance on my rest, how about you? I hope this message is a reminder and an encouragement to create some quiet time where you can rest. Don't allow the devil to make you feel guilty because you're not washing the dishes or laundry. It's important to sit with God and allow our souls to be refueled.


Matthew 11:28-30
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
